When Worry Won't Let Go

Anxiety

When Worry Won't Let Go

God does not ask you to have it all together. He asks only that you bring it — all of it — to Him. The fear, the worry, the weight you have been carrying alone. Lay it at His feet right now. Not tomorrow. Right now. He is not surprised by what you are feeling. He is not overwhelmed by it. He is waiting for you to release it.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."

Philippians 4:6

Notice what God promises here. He does not promise to remove your circumstances. He promises a peace that will stand guard over your heart even while the storm continues. This is the miracle — a peace that makes no logical sense. The world cannot manufacture it, cannot sell it, and cannot take it away. It is His peace, given freely to you.

"And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Philippians 4:7

He does not merely tolerate your worries. He invites them. The word "cast" is the same word used when fishermen throw their nets — a decisive, full, intentional release. You are not burdening God when you bring Him your fears. You are trusting Him. That is exactly what He wants. Go in that trust today.

"Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you."

1 Peter 5:7

Lord, I confess that I have tried to carry this on my own. I have rehearsed my worries over and over instead of bringing them to You. Today I choose to release them. Every fear, every what-if, every weight — I lay it down. Guard my heart and my mind. Let Your peace, the peace that passes all understanding, settle over me right now. In Jesus's name. Amen.

Amen.

May His peace go with you today.
